The exhibition is the first in Germany to present objects from the collection of the “Memorial” Society, Moscow, founded in 1988. Over the past two decades, the staff of this human rights organization has travelled extensively in Siberia and elsewhere to amass innumerable testimonies to and documents of the Gulag camps.
